No 100 RCAC

I was in Ottawa this afternoon and saw an army cadet wearing a maroon beret with Canadian Parachute Corps cap badge.
I asked him about it and they are No 100 RCAC in Brighton Ontario.

Very interesting, the Airborne Cadets used to be in Edmonton back in the day. Is it unusual for a naval officer to be the CO of an army cadet unit?

The capbadge does not look like the Canadian Airborne, but actually the 1CANPARA type, I wonder where they had them made.

If you read my first post, you will see that I stated the cadet was wearing a Canadian Parachute Corps cap badge. I mentioned nothing about The Canadian Airborne Regiment.
If you read your linked article and examine the pictures and their captions, you will see that the Lieutenant Commander is in charge of the Regional Cadet Support Unit for Eastern Ontario. The CO of the cadet corps is a captain badged to the Army in the Cadet Instructor Cadre.

Phil, Did the badge have any unique characteristics? To put it another way, can the cadet version be confused with the original Canadian Parachute Corps badges?

I didn't get a look at the reverse. I will say it was very shiny. I wonder if these were produced by Joe Douin for the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion Association.

Reading the material in the one linked page, it sounds like they may have had an order made for their corps. A cadet corps in Manitoba recently adopted the Manitoba Border Horse badges for their corps.
