Bloomer's book has similar badge (Fig.380) as "The 5th Battalion Victorian Scottish Regiment, O/R's, 1948-60, wm." Cheers, Tinto |

Definitely Australian 5th Battalion Victorian Scottish, but in oxidised finish it would be 1939-42 (wartime). The same badge was worn 1930-39 in brass and WM. Same design 1903-12 also with a larger size badge and another with a lion over a scroll with no circle.
When the regiment was re-raised in 1948 the badge was 'the same but different' with minor die changes which can most easily be seen by the position of the lion's head in relation to the circle |
