WW2 DSM ( and bar ? ) Help wanted
If anyone knows if it is possible to search for a WW2 DSM citation on line would they please send me a PM.
The medal group I am interested in contains- DSM,39/45 star,Atlantic star,Africa Star ( bar North Africa 42/43) Burma Star ( Bar Pacific) and War Medal. On the medal ribbons on the mans CPO`s uniform there is a rosette on the DSM ribbon as well as on the ribbons for the Africa Star and Burma Star presumably donating the award of a second DSM ? P.B.

Yes it is possible, if you have a name, to search for a citation, but it might not be there when you do. It might be in the London Gazette but that will probably only clue in the action involved.
I am prepared to try if you send me a PM. Got a soft spot for the navy, and that group almost mirrors that of my dad's Godfather ttfn! Matt

The DSM is a funny medal to research. On the most part I've never been lucky with them, in that Ive never actually found a citation.
I suggest you use this mans name for a search in PROCAT Reader using ADM as the section of records you are wishing to research. If any of those DSM's are for something really interesting, not just pats on the back there will be a mention of him.
