Hi Andrew.

A mystery indeed.

I love the occasional challenge.

I've spent the past 3/4 s of an hour or so on t'internet trying all sorts of stuff with the letters, even trying Windsor Castle Volunteers and Victoria's Witch's Convention.............it wasn't them.

I do believe that, as has already been mentioned, it is connected with The West Indies Regiment. It certainly has the same wreaths as a couple of their badges.

This for example, minus the ribbon where the wreaths join:

How about West Carribbean Volunteers.....but I can't find anything on that either.

Or Western Cape Volunteers, but that's not mentioned either.

I love a mystery, there is somebody who will always have the answer.

Nice badge by the way.

Hope the answer is not too long in coming.

Regards
Brian

Thank you Brian. I have found another person who has one, but also doesn't know what it is. I will keep on scratching. It is a beautiful badge, so I hope I do find the answer. Regards Brian

Hi Frank, it's just the wreath that makes me think that it isn't. I would love for it to be South African . I would really like to move it out of my unknown box. Can you add anything? Regards Andrew

Just a thought, could it be Wainuiomata Volunteer Corps!!

Maybe our fellow New Zealanders could confirm.
