SADF Insignia

Hi everyone,

Another little collecting bug of mine, SADF 'tuppers'. Called tuppers because they are plastic and are embossed on a brown nutria backing.

They are becoming more and more scarce, especially the older units that have now been closed down or amalgamated into the new SANDF and are now under a more uniform set of insignia.

Nice, the tupperware flashes often seem to be disregarded by collectors, so good to see a collection of them on show

Yes they are a 'forgotten' collectors item. I guess due to them being directly attached to our shirts and then once the army days were over, the uniforms were dumped in our kit bags (balsak) and over time they just disappeared etc...
