The information I have posted has been taken from various CCNs, COSAs, List of Change, Pattern cards and Regulations.

If the badges were not worn that is not my fault.

I think there are many cases of items being listed in CCN's, COSA etc that are not described correctly or never used for listed purpose, same as some books have errors in them which are then repeated.

Here is the 1951 Pattern Card for Royal Arms in Wreath within a coloured border, where the end user is not listed

(I cannot recall where I got the image from, but I think it is yours Marc?)

Brilliant, Marc, thank you. That detail was EXACTLY what I recall seeing in MATREGS.

Is there any evidence that the Royal Arms in Wreath was worn by anyone other than by

Conductor RAOC (later RLC)
1st Class, Staff Sargent Major RASC- Supply WO's only
1st Class, Staff Sargent Major RAOC (from 1965 till 1967 when absorbed into Conductor)
Master Gunner First Class RA (with Gun RA)

3 versions are listed in CCN CB 1949

0179 - which I take to be small plain worsted
2250 - Red
2251 - Yellow

with no further description.

I would be interested in seeing a scan of the Mat Regs or other entries purely for research purposes.

I do not see this as a pishing contest, only to clear facts in my own notes.

I did mean 'Royal Arms in Wreath within a Coloured Border' in context to previous posts

Thanks guys, what great info, I have an interest as I have letters from a distant family member who was a Conductor based in Italy in 1804 & 5 during the Napoleonic Wars.

Cheers

Phil.
