5 Buttons with an estimate of £250 - £350
Good day folks
I just wondered if I had missed anything here. Theses look like regular general service buttons or have I totally misidentified them? https://www.bidonthis.co.uk/auction/...-pounds-254707 Does the fact that they are made by 'MORTON & CROWDER LTD' BIRMINGHAM or J B S & S" make them incredibly rare? Regards James |

Hello James
No, you haven't missed anything. It's either a printing error or just another example of an auctioneer not knowing anything about the subject matter. Buttons are worth no more than about £1.00 each on a good day unless, that is, they are solid gold! Roger |

I think that they must be made of 18 carat gold at that estimate.
Any button maker who had a WD contract to produce buttons for the army must have had orders that ran into the tens of thousands. |

Money for nothing
Just watching "Money for Nothing" on the telly and it does show that people will pay large amounts of money for crap.
The seller will be very lucky to get more than a few pounds for the buttons but you never know. P.B.

I think that who ever typed up the auction estimates sheet missed out the decimal point and the estimate should therefore read: £2.50 - £3.50
