So the badge is unofficial but probably worn by para trained 3rd Hussars who were Part of 6th Airborne Armoured Recce...

Keith,

To be precise the unofficial design badge was given to the museum as part of the effects of a former RAC Recce soldier who later transferred to the 3rd KOH. When his para smock was shown in the museum it had a 3 KOH sleeve badge on it which may, or more likely not, have been there in 1944.

There is no evidence for the badge being worn by anything other than this one soldier and certainly not by the whole recce who are in photos from the period in standard para regt badges.

No IMHO its probably a fake and wasn't worn at all.

Lets not encourage any more to be made by over optimistic speculation.
