King's Liverpool Regiment VB
Hi all,
I thought of Peter Brydon and his excellent research of the badges of the KLR when I saw this cabinet photo from Liverpool photographer Edward Roger and so am posting without complete confidence that it is actually a KLR soldier. I think I can make out his shoulder strap to read as 1 or 2 VB LIVERPOOL and his headdress bears a small silver or WM QVC Maltese Cross style Boss badge. It is of the style of the 1st VB KLR Helmet Plate I have seen. Enjoy, cheers Dean. |

Dean,
A great photo, I am pretty sure that he is 2nd V.B. and that what appears to be a white metal or silver boss badge may be reflections on a blackened brass badge. I have no evidence of a white metal/ silver boss badge for other ranks of the unit. Attached is a picture of a 2nd V.B. boss badge and the second picture is of a 2nd V.B shoulder strap. The plume would be black over red. Thanks for showing Peter

Thanks Peter,
The photograph when viewed under a good lens would appear to me to bare 2nd VB Liverpool shoulder strap. I hear you on the boss badge. I have been caught in reflections myself. If you would like it could let me have your postal address as a PM or as an email and I will send it to you as you have been very helpful and generous to me. Best regards Dean. |
