RM Drum Major Items
Hi there,
Here's a few of the RM Band items I've collected over the years (started with my fathers old RM Band badges)... Turns out (so I've been told), there were only a couple dozen of the QC sash badges made due to the many left over KC examples (my father was still using a KC helmet plate into the 70's!!). Hope you enjoy! Unfortunately one of the drum sticks is missing! Mike |

I'd read that the Kings Crown pouch badge continued in wear for years after it "should" have been changed to a St Eds. Crown, do you know if the continued wearing of the Kings Crown helmet plate was the norm or just something that some individuals managed to get away with?

Hi there Leigh,
It was indeed the norm back then and my father still remembers when they finally were getting rid of the old KC helmet plates in the mid-70s when you could buy them for £1 each. Best regards, Mike |

Thanks, I didn't know that they were still being worn that late.
I picked up a few bits of RM stuff from one of the Commando units stores in 1979 - Queens Crown helmet plates were 40p. |
