Default Yeomanry WW1

Yesterday I acquired what I take to be a badge of the 8th Imperial Yeomanry. Initially I thought that it was Boer War vintage, but closer inspection showed the the V111 had 6 sided lugs , which I'm assured indicates that it is from WW1. Can anyone tell me more ?
Many thanks
Mike

Hi Mike

Hexagon lugs do predate WW1, here is a page from the Edwardian Gaunt catalogue c1904, and some collars from the late Victorian period.

Thanks, Rob
That is really helpful information. I have always thought that this sort of lug made a badge WW1 now we have proof to the contrary.
Regards
Mike

The lugs are very typical for British made shoulder titles that were certainly worn during the Anglo Boer War, very nice.
