Buoyed with my previous success, I’ve repaired another star.
I think I’m getting better. Please excuse the collage - but it’s less fussy.

W.Dowler Irish Guards Officers / Warrant Officers forage Cap Star (long lugs).
1. Top left as was on purchase, crude repair to shamrock.
2. Top right, striped down and getting cleaned up.
3. Bottom left, new ‘enamel’ goes on.
4. Bottom right, finished star.

All my own work, and thoroughly enjoyable.
(Commissions considered)

Anyone tried to repair the enamel on the red/white/blue central backing disk ? Picked a nice sterling silver badge up cheap. But looks like its been through the wars ! Looking for paint codes/shades, as there is quite a variety of the same colour out there.
