Can you identify this Artillery unit please?
This is a photograph of the markings on a British WW2 steel helmet carrier and I am struggling to identify the unit. it appears to read K.G.A
The service number falls within the number block allocated to the Royal Artillery, i.e. Royal Artillery (Field, Coastal & Anti-Aircraft): 721001 - 1842000 and 11000001 - 11500000. The steel helmet is dated 1939. Any help would be appreciated, thank you. |

Maybe K.G.A. is misprinted and should read R.G.A.

That had occurred to me but if I understand correctly the RGA did not exist during WW2 as they were amalgamated with the RFA in 1924.
