Default Single Malt required

An early Xmas pressy for myself.
Not my usual type of purchase but a very nice presentation Decanter for a Capt Nunn on promotion with the 3rd Royal Lancashire Militia. 1873.

Hi Paul,

That really is a cracking piece indeed. I love stuff like this, unusual and full of history.

If it were mine I would certainly fill it with some nice Scotch. The rich colour might even bring out the etching a little too.

Well done.

Cheerio,

Roy

Thanks Roy,Peter.
It has been very well looked after and a nice bit of research to be had.
It has likely been preserved by some spirit!!

If you just wanted to bring out the colour and engraving, you could use the old theatrical standby - cold tea. But that would be a terrible waste. What a beautiful object, well done.

Thanks for the kind comments,
It is certainly a nice addition whilst the long wait for the odd Lancs Militia or RVC plate goes on.
