Information Please
Hello all,
Could somebody tell me if a cap badge from the 4th Otago Regiment is considered to be a rare badge? Thanks in advance. Phil (Drummajor) |

This may help as they do have variations.
I would say no, but with no picture it depends on what you have.. Cheers Corey |

Information Please
Thanks Corey, It is 6/29 from the information you sent me. It was sold to me as a "very rare" WW1 badge. I didn't pay too much for it although it has one missing lug.
Thanks again Corey, for the info. Drummajor. |

the 4th Otago Regiment was given battle honours from the South African Boar war 1901-1902 and these honours are on the badge you have. this can make people think it is a very desirable badge, when in fact it is one of the more common badges from NZ. The badge came into use from 1911 to 1921 when it was reformed into the 10th North Otago Rifles Regiment. goggle / Wikipedia the 4th otago and the full history is there. hope this helps you out.
