Default Raf capbadge

How as the owner managed to 'dome'thus badge so much ,just simply bent it ??

Perhaps tapped out using the end of a broom handle.

Agree. Probably a lot of things one could use laying about the house or barracks.

Shame the monogram has snapped at the top R - A join and A distorted a bit.

Still a very nice thing though.

Unlike today trades and skills such as working with sheet metal before joining up so they'd know what to do and how to do it.

I've achieved the same effect on a chromed brass cap badge (tho' not a RAF one) that I used to wear simply by pushing out the central "ERII" monogram using my fingers.
