54th (A&SH) LAA Regt RA (TA)?
A pick up today, I noticed froma search that the same sign on a helmet was said to probably be 54th (A&SH) LAA Regt RA (TA) or perhaps 91 Anti Tank Regt RA (formed from 5 A&SH) or 93 Anti Tank Regt RA (formed from 6 A&SH)
http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...light=scottish Any confirmation would be good if possible and if this is part of the WWII 9th armoured division.

I think that both 54 LAA Regt and 58 LAA Regt, both of which claimed their lineage back to 9 A&SH, can be discounted - both regiments wore a rectangular patch of probably, 42nd tartan below their RA AoS strips.

Thanks Mike. That leaves 91st or 93rd LAA. Maybe Marc will comment.

VIII Corps ATk Regt - A higher definition image of the soldier in the Jeep might help. Mike

After my last post on a diced flash in the link in post 1, I did some more digging.
The badges painted on helmets do not correspond to a cloth sleeve badge. I have not found any RA unit wearing the green edged red and white diced badge during WW2, (proof otherwise is most welcome). In 1947 some of the WW2 Regiments were reconstituted and reorganised, 93rd (A&SH) being one of them as 402nd (5&6 Bn A&SH) ATk, then Light, losing the 5&6 Bn., part of the title and amalgamating with 277th to become 277th (A&SH) Field Regt RA (TA) in 1961. During which time a badge the same as that shown in post 1 was worn. Marc

I noticed whilst searching something else that B l Davis lists this in British army cloth insignia plate 409 as A&SH or 402 light regiment RA (a&sh) T.A. Whilst in British army uniforms and insignia of ww2 p86 he just mentions the A&SH.
