I can't think of anything else that you need to have in direct relation to both 1st and 2nd Regiments, if you have the basic cap badges, if you have not got the little Guards Armoured Division flash, then perhaps you should get an example.
Not at all scarce, but , it is what members of both regiments wore at differing points in time, as well as together, towards the end of the show in Northwest Europe, they both finished it as part of Sir Brian Horrocks armoured car screen.
They are just a much simplified version of the formation sign adopted by the original Guards Division and used to 1918, so perhaps a bit disappointing, but it is what they wore on campaign, as shown here by Eric Lloyd, a Life Guard serving in the 1st Regiment

Nice photos and information -- thank you. Be assured I already have a couple of examples of the Guards Armoured 'eye'. I have tended to gather together the cloth insignia before the metal ones, but am now working on the latter.
