RFC Cap Badges and some other insignia
Good day folks
Here are two RFC cap badges. Are they OK or restrikes? The darker of the two badges is complete, the crown is bent back. Also some cloth badges. These may be cadet badges. The chevrons are actually single chevrons roughly stitched together. I didn't think the RAF has a rank for a single chevron which is why I suspect these may be cadet badges. All comments most welcome. Many thanks James |

The two badges in the middle row above the Corporal's stripes are Air Training Corps (ATC) badges: LH=Leading Cadet; RH=Senior Cadet. In my day, you had to achieve at least Leading Cadet status to be promoted to Corporal. I suspect the stripes are also ATC.
The RAF Regiment now has a single chevron rank. Not sure if they call it Lance Corporal. David Last edited by David Tremain; 30-08-17 at 03:55 PM. Reason: Further comment |
