A lovely photo I thought. Would be nice to get their badge.

Hi Khyber,

Yes a splendid photo indeed. Any idea what the badge would look like?

Cheerio,

Roy

Here it is. Taken from elsewhere on the forum. There were Sikhs on the force, so maybe one will turn up for me in India

Hi Khyber,

Thanks for that mate, a lovely looking badge. Keep your eyes peeled and if you do find one be sure to post some pics.

Default Ku Lang Su Municipal Police

Just to add a bit more spice to the search for this elusive badge ; the Indians (Sikhs),of whom there were a maximum of 30 at any one time, are always depicted wearing the very large turban, sans badge. If they had one,it would have born a Pin and Loop or Spike fastener.
There were only a few chinese in the force, they were Interpreters and detectives so not in the loop. The Post of Captain Superintendent was filled by a European,ex Army ( Berkely-Mitchell later Roland Bass),they obviously had a badge or two.
And just to muddy the waters further,on the mainland opposite Ku Lang Su there was the AMOY Municipal Police,a similar outfit to KLS.The Capt Supt was F H Edwards, but I have never come across an example of the A.M.P badge. Both Units disintegrated on the Japanese occupation and were not revived.Bass escaped to serve in WW2.
