small RA bronze collar query
Who wore the small 1 1/2 inch sized RA bronze collar badge and when?
It is not mentioned in Campbell "The dress of the Royal Artillery" from 1971. Rgds, Thomas. |

These were a mistake made by 'AMMO UK', c1989 a few Officers recently posted from RMA Sandhurst had the misfortune to be wearing them on arrival for their first CO's interview in 4th Regiment Royal Artillery.

Another question; the plastic WWII RA grenade came in both large and small sizes? Rgds, Thomas. |

OK, thanks again. Plastic question was based on photo of one normal and one apparently shrivelled badge.

variations on the theme of 1 1/2 "
RA grenades. the Fraser & Glass example has a " gold " wash finish to the obverse. the word " gold " refers only to the description and does not imply or infer that the item is of a precious metal, eg: Au ( aurum ) 79 in the Atomic table.

Silverwash, for your gold badge see http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ad.php?t=13019 post #13.
The Stanley & Sons has extra plastic where the tip of the scroll meets the body of the grenade, they also came with a flat back. Rgds, Thomas. |
