Default Bedfordshire badge - long slider

Hi All
I picked this up recently just because of the nice long slider, thought it was a nice piece to share.
Cheers,
Alex

Hi JT
Yes, it was your album that actually made me realize there was actually a difference and why I bought this badge.
Cheers,
Alex

Nice one Alex. I'm biased I know but I've always felt the Bedfordshire Regiment cap badge to be one of best proportioned of the lot, a handsome little badge. Bedfordshire used to be known as "The Land of Bricks and Brussels Sprouts" and sometimes the wind around here is ferocious!!.

Default Bedfs

Spent many an unhappy day picking Brussels and peasing in the county, but they do have an excellent county archive.

The Bedfs & Herts were known as the peacemakers- as they never got posted anywhere there was trouble!

Stephen.

Stephen, don't forget, "They also serve who only stand and wait", to quote the old line. Anyway, they did their bit.. Are you an old Clanger by any chance?.

Yes, family was in Willington, schooled at Elstow and Hastingsbury. Jumped the fence at 16 and went to London. Existed [not lived]in Luton for many years subsequently.

My origins have guided my collecting choices, hence my bias towards units from the eastern counties.

Stephen.

Luton!!, you have my deepest sympathy!!.. I'm from that end of the county, Houghton Regis born and bred, that's the old Houghton Regis, not the dump that it is now. I have a great interest in the Beds./Beds.& Herts. for that reason, also the DLI due to my background (Sunderland parentage). Cheers, Hoot.
