I recently acquired a small collection of modern items some of which I will be moving on. In amongst the British items was this PPCLI badge which is unlike any other I have been able to find online. It is a very shiney two piece badge in what appears to be cast construction with a makers plate "Rideau 1983". It is quite a heavy badge so I don't think its anodised.

The question is what is it? Is it unusual, common, officers, other ranks?

Hello Eric. The maker mark and date indicate it is a system acquired badge. It is other ranks.
