I understand from what I have read that most reenacting groups have strict rules on what can and can't be worn, both to keep within the law and to be true to the gentlemen that they are portraying.

I have enjoyed some very good displays put on by some of these groups at various military events and see no harm in them trying to be as accurate as possible with their dress and insignia whilst in a show or arena enviroment. I will add, as long as they don't take themselves too seriously, as some appear to do.

As for SOF, like any business if there is a demand they will supply.

Regards

Ry

As they were authorised in February 1944 the minimum you could wear would be 4, Sept 1939-1940
1940-1941
1941-1942
1942-1943

That is if you are re-enacting from February 1944. However if you are dressed for any time before that month you would be wrong to wear any.

Never heard of that one. I would be interested in knowing more.

ACI 520a May.jpg ACI 520b May.jpgACI 520c May.jpg

Any confusion by the introduction of AO4 of 1918 was resolved with the introduction of ACI 520 of 12th May 1918.

I only hope that it's readable.

Thank you for the WWI AO & ACI, but it does not explain "4 red and one white overseas stripes to go on my BD", from post number 23.

Correct - but my inclusion was to help those not familiar with the wearing of the overseas chevrons and the rules for the same, which were subsequently added to with other ACI's - 609; 698 & 1000 again in 1918;-

Further amendments appeared in 1919, as attached.
