Hi Stephen
This is an exceptional and valuable grouping with fantastic attribution. It is great that it has found its way into your collection, particularly as Jim Bott served in the North Staffs with your grandfather - It is clearly being treasured as fully as it deserves. Brilliant, that it has all been kept together. I remain always pleased to help with any contextual information. Mike |

This Tribute plaque Was a given out to all servicemen upon their return by Lotus (Bostocks) shoe factory. This particular one Issued by Stafford Lotus Factory I have a further three from the Stone Factory they were also issued by the Nuneaton factory.
Their is no indication on the plaques as to where they were issued but I do have the compleat list for Stone and with this particular plaque to pittard I have found him listed in the Stafford book of Servicemen produced by the town. I am seaking others if you see one please PM. Regards Stephen |

From my short time in Stafford I recall how important the Evo-Stik factory was ... perhaps not as big as GEC though ... I imagine there should be a useful War Memorial to former employees at some of the larger employers. Also at the Post Office, and also the Railway Station perhaps, who appear pretty good at commemorating such things. That said, I appreciate your primary interest is for Stone.
Great to hear of new aditions Mike |

[U][/Coldstream Guards Arnhem Connection
Guardsman Les Cheadle gave me these items along with his Battledress first aid dressing and Shirt sadly he used his BD trousers to garden in. I was able to sit down with him many times and record his anecdotes. A gentleman and much respected man in the community worked well in to his 70's. Some of his story included in the photograph.
