You guy's are the greatest. Really appreciate the input. I would be lost otherwise.

Seeking out British items here in the US can be a challenge. Few people have anything. No rhyme or reason to the pricing either. The militaria collector market was flooded "somewhat" with repo's from the 70's. However my eye has gotten much sharper since becoming a forum member here and can most times focus in on the gem's.

Happy to help and great full that you shared your find more info for my file.

Yes a lot of spurious stuff found its way to the states in the short time I have been collecting I have had 2 items that I brought in this country that had come from the states so its finding its way back lucky I got my money back. You certainly proved you have a good eye.

Jack/Mac..... that motto had a pin and clasp fitted. An original loop made into a clasp hook.

I should add that the badge is hollow. 2 pieces. The badge front and the reverse hallmarked cover with several pin size vent holes.

Jack... that appears to be standard for pre 1930 pieces

My guess is this is a commissioned motto from the silversmith. R&W made vesta cases , vases, hairbrush sets ect.... so this NCO Arm Motto could be just a one off? Time will tell.
