Default Polish Education Officers, BAOR

The attached badge has been described as per the heading.

Can anyone tell me more about them before I tackle the Polish Institute?

Thanks in advance.

Jon

The cross appears to be based on the Cross of Independence with Swords, but with the swords upside down on this badge.

According to a French collector, it would be the badge of the First Polish Corps Headquarters in Germany 1945.
from "Poland Military Medals and Decorations, 1939-1945, An Illustrated Reference Guide for Collectors" Kozlowki Martin, Toronto, 1980, p.52.

Default Polish Badge

Dear Laurent.

Is there any chance that you could ask the French collector who has a copy of "Poland Military Medals 1939 to 1945" if there is any mention in this book to the cap badge known as "Polish Boys Trained by Royal Corps of Signals".

This badge was used in Egypt in about 1942/43 by one of the three Schools/Units set up by the British to train Polish boys in different skills that would be needed in Poland after the war. I think we are talking about refugees in Egypt.

Any information would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

This badge has been the subject of intensive discussions on French forum. Finally, the first course seems to be the good one. According to a specialist of Polish badges, it would have been worn by education officers ( Naszywka Oficera Edukacyjnego) of the 1st Polish Armoured Division (General Maczek) on the left sleeve of the Battle dress. A priori, a scarce one.
