48th Highlanders.
Hi All,
I am looking for some info on the 48th Highlanders. Specifically, what is the difference between the 15th Bn (Babin E-15,15a,15b,15c) and the 134th Bn. (Babin E-134). Are they somehow connected as both are also designated "48th Highlanders? Any help clearing this up for me would be much appreciated. Cheers, Tim |

Hi Tim, The 48th Highlanders of the Canadian militia raised the 15th Bn (48th Highlanders), the 92nd Bn (48th Highlanders) and the 134th Bn (48th Highlanders) of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. (To put it another way, the Canadian militia was one part of Canada's army and the three CEF battalions were another part.) They are connected in that the 48th was the parent regiment and after the war perpetuated the CEF battalions.

Excellent, thanks Bill. I was slowly heading in that direction, but so appreciate you making it clear.
Gee, Canadian badges seem to be a bit (read: a lot) addictive... Cheers, Tim |
