Default Scottish Regiments Cap Badges

I was hoping I could have some help with the following badge questions:

1 When the Royal Scots and the King's Own Scottish Borders amalgamated was a new cap badge introduced?

2 What was the cap badge for the Highland Light Infantry before it amalgamated to become the Royal Highland Fusiliers? My search always results in the RHF Grenade or the Glasgow HLI.

3 When the Gordon and Queens Own Highlanders became the Highlanders which badge did they use, again my searches came back unclear.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Tom

Hi Tom
1. All Scottish Regt's after the more recent amalgamations wear the Royal Regt of Scotland badge
2. HLI badge shown, though would of been a St. Edwards crown not imperial as in image
3. The Highlanders wore the Seaforth type badge in three parts with the addition of a crown surrounded by thistles, the stags head and the scroll motto Cuidrich an Rich (I could if spelt that wrong)
Paul

I'm sure if someone has an example of the RRS and Highlanders badge they will show you.

This was the Highlanders. This improved metal version as worn in No1 dress and by NCOs. ORs wore a/a version.

Post amalgamation the RHF wore the Highland Brigade badge whilst the TA Coy wore the k/c and later on the q/c version.

ORs wore the a/a version in working dress but the metal "Staff" badge in No1 and No2 dress.

Thanks for the replies, it would appear that some regiments that amalgamated prior to the RRS didn't get new cap badges.
