Default Gordon Highlanders bonnet badge

Good afternoon

Here is my Gordon Highlanders bonnet badge. This one looks ok to me but would like opinions from more experienced British badge collectors. Is it legit? Is it OR or officer?

Many thanks

Regards

Martyn

Martyn,

A much faked badge, usually found in just WM.

I believe this has been fraudulantly altered/added to to give the appearance of a NCO's or Officers badge.

The quality, however, is just not there plus it appears to have had artificial chemical aging to the front.

regards

Martyn,
I don't think this type of badge was worn in headress, I'm sure the design is for the cross belt plate and worn on a brass/gilt plate.
Another heavily faked badge with the addition of lugs rather than screw posts set oot to deceive.
