Default 28th Gloucester badge

Hi

I'm trying to sort out my collection and came across this badge. Could anyone comment on its authenticity.

Many thanks

Martyn

I have little knowledge but from the photo I would guess it may be good. A closer image of the lugs on the back might help.
Cheers,
Alex

Martyn,

Pre 1881 glengarry badges are very difficult to date off photos.

They have been reproduced for over a 100 years which doesnt help.

I havent commented on this badge for that reason, but as you have asked me personally to comment I would lean towards it not being an original based on its appearance, colour and quality.

regards

Thank you again Simon for your valued feedback. This one will be taken out and put in the junk box tonight. I really appreciate your expertise.
