Default Two patches

Can anyone positively identify the patches shown please?
I was told the first is either Staff, or Demonstration Bn, at the Royal School of Signals. Which is it or what is it if neither of these?
The second is obviously Combined Ops of some sort, but who wears it?
I will appreciate any info, please

The signals is DCCIS which is the organisation that incorporates what was the School of Signals and 11 Signal Regt. Still worn today.

Any chance you may have an image of this badge being worn.

So far no one will acknowledge it exists.

Marc

I have checked with the CO and he tells me that the badge is still correct for DCCIS but only on signs and the like. The patch was ordered to be removed from permanent staff's uniforms as part of the commonality of branding direction that only Brigade badges were to be worn. As they are part of 22 Gp they don't have an equivalent patch.

Ironically there was an equally short lived Royal School of Signals badge in 1999-01. It was a plain green shield with the signals flags, sword and a crown on it. It suffered a similar fate and had to be removed.

Alan,

Thank you very much, I have already documented the RSS badge and there are images of it being worn. However when I asked about this one there was no reply from anyone. Which it seems has become the norm for most Army units.

Many thanks for the information on the Signals badge, gentlemen. May I ask what DCCIS stands for so that I can at least put that on as a designation for it, with notes on what you have told me. Thanks in anticipation.

I take it that nothing is known about the Combined Ops badge I also illustrated?

It is a Royal Marines unit, try a search.

I've searched for this but nothing has turned up on the internet, in general or under Royal Marines. Perhaps it was a speculative or unofficial badge.

There are images of the Combined Ops type badge all over the interweb, following images rather than text descriptions may help. The patch is being sold on eBay.

Different coloured thread shown here as "Amphibious Assault Squadron badges worn by Royal Marines and Royal Navy attached ratings in 1 Assault group Royal Marines"

Not very helpful text, but shown on uniform:

It seems to be 1 Assault Group Royal Marines badge. I think it is worn on this picture (not 100% sure).
