Default Are these ok?

Hello all,

I picked up 2 badges from a trusted dealer yesterday. Because he's trusted, I didn't pay particularly close attention to them. It's only when I came to log them into my collection that I noticed that both have non-voided crowns.

Based on comments made on bits of scrap metal, masquerading as cap badges, that I've bought in the past & posted on here, I was under the impression that a non-voided crown was a sure fire indicator of a fake.

Am I right in believing this & have therefore picked up 2 duds or are there exceptions to this "rule"?

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve, I am many miles from being an expert, but my HLI also is unvoided and reputably sourced. I had a quick look in KK, Gaylor and Wilkinson books, and they all have unvoided crowns for the HLI.

The other badge, sorry, is out of my league to comment on.

Cheers, Tim

Thanks for the comments chaps & putting my mind at ease.

I can now see that I probably misunderstood comments on previous badges to apply to all badges & not just the ones being commented on.

Cheers

Steve

It is indeed, and the plated pattern is not the easiest to find.
