Irish Regiment of Canada 1st Pattern
Picked up this 110th Irish Regiment cap badge recently. With a number of the harder to find Canadian badge being faked. Is this badge being copied ?

Rare badge. There is no record of copies being made to date.
This my example.

Thanks Bill.
I have another example which is in a red brass with a bronze finish. (its in storage, so cannot post a pic now) It has flat type lugs (I believe associated with the maker Ellis ?) But not sure if its an officers badge, or an OR's by a different maker. Danny |

The flat lugs are associated with Ellis and being the Irish Regiment was raised in Toronto that is consistent. I am not sure what an officer's pattern badge would be for them? Would it be silvered?

Not 100% sure. I have a silver plated 1st pattern collar. Been told by a Canadian collector that it was probably worn by the band.

Both badges for comparison.

Morning Danny, The badge on the left in the image makes me uncomfortable. The finish (natural brass), the lack of crisp detail, and the lugs are concerning. The one on the right is what I have seen for examples of this badge.

Picked up another but with lugs north and south. Been advised all are good original badges.
