Hi Andy,
I have both the problems solved, mate. Thanks for confirming the badge is now visible. I have had a PM offer of a spare GPR badge. Next up will be the modern AAC badge, plenty of those about i think. Are there fakes? I regret not buying a blue beret with a/a badge now, it was £5 at a fair, last year. Cheers, Phil

Resurrecting an old thread.
I accept that the diagonal lines above the legs are a give-away. A pity cos badge has excellent patina. Furthermore, the slider has the Gaunt mark WITHOUT dot (I surmise there was an old piece of adhesive tape on slider, possibly containing a price label, or even a label itself, which left its residue). One needs to magnify to confirm. What status would this give to the badge? A genuine period striking of a maker's variant? Comments welcome. as always GTB |

Unfortunately the original poster removed the photo of the bad badge in post1 ?
Would his badge have been like the one I posted here ?. These were both condemned. Charlie |

I am not sure what happened to the images, this has been a problem on this thread since day one. I may have removed the photo from my album, I will check later.

I did remove the repro badge from my album so the link was not available.
