Bugle collar badge
I am interested in Rifle Vols bugle badges, but I suspect this small collar badge belongs to the regular Infantry. Can anyone identify regiment and period?
Thanks. |

Looks to me like something has broken off the top, part of the top bow on the bugle string seems to be missing.

As Alex has said, there may have been a coronet on top. Could possibly be for Volunteer Battalion of the Cornwall Light Infantry. Refer Fig 911 in Churchill's book.

Depending on size its the bottom half of a DCLI 1895 Field Cap Badge

Not aware of the wm collars being worn in gm by regular battalions. So your badge should measure 38mm across - if its less I'd be grateful to know.

Thanks, will check the size and see if there is anything broken off the top.
