Can anyone tell me if it is possible to tell the difference between the lion collars of 241st battAlin and latter versions?
All the best

Nice pair of sterling silver cef collars. Mean gnarly looking lion.
Enjoy. Picture from Arctic medals

Hi Dan, I would really like to see the back of the copper collar. They were supposedly made by Ellis, so they should have flat lugs.
(Nice pic of fond farewells...and the Ptn 1916 dismounted equipment)

Bit of a hint in the maker comment. The CEF collars would likely have flat lugs and the post war wire lugs. The Essex Scottish were not authorized until 1927, so the collars would have been made after that time. By then, I think Ellis was not in the business any longer and they would have been made by Scully. They were natural brass or white metal.
