Default Prince Alfred's Guard

Hello all,
I'm trying to establish if this is a cap or helmet plate? Also if it is possible to determine a date. i.e. was it pre ww1, ww1 or ww2?
Thanks in anticipation, Tony.

Thanks for the reply. As I'm fairly new to collecting I'm not altogether up to speed with all the terminology. i know what caubeen is, but uncertain of C Irish Company 'PAG' you might have to spell it out for me.

I'm away for a couple of days over Easter. So thanks in anticipation.
Tony

Tony. Prince Alfred's Guard formed an Irish company in WWII. Which became C Company of that regiment.

The PAG gilding metal badge was adopted 1913 and worn through 1939 on the helmet. This had replaced the similar badge in white metal that was worn uptil 1913.
