Default 48th Highlanders Cap Badge - Information Required

Looking for a bit of information on this 48th Highlanders white metal cap badge:-

1) Is the tartan backing correct for this badge.

2) The rear is makers marked "Roden Bros", doe this help to date it please ?

Paul, the correct tartan for the 48th Highlanders badge backing is Davidson, and from what I can see of the tartan behind the badge that is correct. It was worn with a piece of red felt behind the center.

The pipers wore a different tartan and in a unique manner, having two pieces one smaller on top of the the other and at a different orientation. They wore Stuart of Fingask.

Hi Paul, the Roden badges are early Second WW. Somewhat scarcer than the Scully marked badges.
