13th DCO`s Lancers silver and gilt badge
Thought I would share this badge that I picked up this morning . It is either a collar badge or field service cap badge . It has 4 lugs and a mark of the letter "M" on the rear of the lower scroll.
The silver and gilt finish is brighter than shown in the pictures, as it is not in my collecting interest I am sticking the badge on a well known auction site. Why cant I find Kings Liverpool Regiment items of this quality at local antique fairs ? You do wonder where items like this have been before ending up on an antique fair stall. P.B.

I'd guess a field service cap as collar dogs were very unusual for IA units and the 13th would have had both Rajputs and Pathans so caps would have been common wear. The Wiki article on the unit shows the same badge.
In an aside, apparently Zia-al-Huq served with the 13th early in his military career! |
