Thanks

A nice well-made item Steve but I question a few characteristics.
I'm new to these but I believe the tail shouldn't be inside the foot as yours is. Also, the letters are a bit too wide and not sharp enough and I'm not sure about the light grooving on the reverse surface. I admit I don't own one but I've been collecting images and I'm trying to sort them into real and post-war copies. Like the early RFC and RAF wings, it's always better to have provenance with an item of course, but even then replacements could have been acquired at a later date. I've read that there were at least three castings of these during the war years, each demonstrating different characteristics.
I know there are others out there who have the knowledge to give you a more definitive answer and I look forward to hearing from them too.

Best wishes

Steve, from the images, I would say it is an original Egypt made badge.

Enjoy the hobby, Keith
