Prince of Wales's Plumes
I purchased this badge sometime ago with some Regular Cavalry NCO arm badges but I am certain it is not a cavalry or yeomanry arm badge. It is wm 5.5cm wide and 5.8cm high, with two copper loops east & west on the reverse. I would be very interested to know anything about it. Jimbo

This type of badge was commonly worn as a headdress badge (usually on a shako or kepi) by many of the small Welsh county police forces during the Victorian/Edwardian period. They are difficult to pin down to a specific force because of being fairly "generic" in nature. I think they were an inexpensive option offered by manufacturers which avoided the expense of a custom designed county specific badge. I hope this is helpful.

Prince of Wales's Plumes
Thanks Dave - being made of white metal is a good indicator of some type of police badge.
