Default Glamorgan Imperial Yeomanry

I'd value your opinions on this Glamorgan IY badge. The badge's original owner seems to have stamped his name on the slider, but as a pre-1908 unit shouldn't there be sweat holes on the back? Thanks for your help.

As far as I am aware this version with the Imperial on the scroll should only be found on lugs, never on a slider.

Sorry to say but the badge you show is simply a modern copy. If you have a look in here you will see what it should look like.

A glance at the reverse suggests this is of far more recent manufacture than 1908, you certainly would expect an original to look rather different.

Morning Jerry,
I think I have a die erased example on a slider somewhere, but, that would be TF post 1908, but, again, they look nothing like the badge that is the subject of the original post in this thread.
