Default Royal Auxiliary Air Force Badge

My father was in the Royal Auxiliary Air Force from 1954 to 1959 at RAF Old Catton, Norwich. I found this lapel badge in his effects together with his discharge papers. I expected to be able to find pictures of something similar searching the internet, but haven't turned one up yet, and haven't seen one on here though I am new to the site and still finding my way around. Is this just a civvy embellishment he bought at the time? It says JR Gaunt London on the back.

Thanks, Steve

Yes, it was 'civvie', to be worn on the lapel of a blazer/sports jacket or something like that.
Cheers,
Alex

Yes, indeed, it is simply a badge to be worn on mufti and denotes a member of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force .
