SAAS
An article from the Eighth Army News of 27 Oct 44 on the award of a distinctive sign (Yellow 8 on blue/white diamond) to the South African Army Signals in Italy. Not new information, but definitive and contemporary.

Many thanks for posting this article Mike. This was my late fathers unit.

I do hope he brought home a slack handful of "yellow 8" flashes home from the War? Mike

That's two more flashes than my father brought home from the War. But he did have one Maj Peniakoff as a patient (new dental plate required) just after VE Day near Venice I believe. Mike
