Now that is very nice, I always think these sort of images, with their original mount, naming individuals, are well worth buying if you actually find a particular subject matter that is of interest, be it a regiment or corps, that you might collect to, or have a special interest in.
After all, the question you need to ask is, how many others are actually extant today, you may well end up with something that is unique, for just a few pounds.

I took it out of its original frame to be able to scan it Frank. It was a bit more than a few quid but still within a range I was willing to pay.
I live in Carmarthenshire hence the interest to me and it was bought in the county.

Hello Jerry,
Okay, so you had to pay for it, that's fine, but, at the end of the day, how many exist today, that might be one of just a handful, or, it might be unique, but, it does not matter, you are pleased with it, I can see why, a lovely period piece.
Regards again Frank

It was sensibly priced for what it is, but it was a touch more than a few quid Frank.

It was a good day out at the fair with a few good buys to be had considering there was not many militaria sellers there.

Hello Jerry,
I don't think the price is an issue, as I say, how many are extant today?
Something that is local is always nice and well worth having, where are you going to find another similar?
Was it a local antiques fair find?
If so, it is quite remarkable what is still out there.
Regards Frank
