Default WW1 & WW2 black metal buttons difference

Can any one show me the difference between a WW1 Black oxide metal button to a WW2 type and if they are different in which way?? Photos would help if possible.

Thanks in advance

Take a look in Cossums Military Button book.
It lists all the types and periods of WW1/WW2 buttons.

Thanks,
Jas
