RFC looks rather out of shape but it does look worn/well polished and has lost the crown orb. Pink 'Soldier's Friend' polish to the rear might be a good sign, not so easy to get today as brasso which is often used on the rear of a badge to make it look 'used'. Cheers, Paul.

Jon,
I agree with Paul that this one may be OK! Every cloud has a silver lining! Andy |

Lads,
1 so far is not too bad.Waiting out on a poss good on a Para Regt (awaiting Jean Baptistes input on the lug!!) I did forget to mention that the RFC is raised, which feels nice, but its not hard to replicate. Pink friend, Paul, i didnt even realise the pink, but i am colour blind, and thought it was brasso!! yep, every cloud etc. Will post more as and when i get the camera back from my wife taking pics of the new son (Priorities hey) cheers Jon |

Hi Jon, Jeanpit, wardog, Andy,
I agree that the RFC badges shown are genuine. I haven't seen Jeanpit's version before, it looks flatter than most. Here are mine for comparison, showing various patterns. Cheers, Tinto |

RFC badges
Hi all,
here are two badges I once bought. Cap badge is not painted on the rear but merely oxidized. Collar badge marked Gaunt London. You opinions are very welcome as these are not my field, just a nice piece of history ! Dirk J. |
