Default Regimental flashes

Hi, I bought some ribbons from an old friend who used to deal in medals and these were in his unknown section. Could they be regimental? Thanks in advance, mike

The third ribbon in the first picture is a hat band from a Marks & Spencer's straw hat - I've got one, and the glue line is a clue. But it does look rather 'Rifles'!

Photo two: The top one looks like the Canada General Service Medal

I'd say that the middle one in Photo 3 is actually the Cape of Good Hope General Service Medal (a buff centre stripe rather than white).

Default Straw hat bands

The mention of straw hat bands reminds me of the origin of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers stable belt that is worn to this day.

This extract from a history of The Lancashire Fusiliers explains.

I wonder how many other stable belts are based on 'pretty hat bands' ?
