17th Battalion (North Sydney Regiment) - 1930 to 42 period hat badge

18th Battalion (The Kuring-Gai Regiment) - 1930 to 42 period hat badge

24th Battalion (The Kooyong Regiment) - 1930 to 42 period hat badge

All the above battalions were disbanded by 1942. They were not in existence after World War 2.

Hi Mick,
Thank you very much for your speed of response. How difficult in your opinion would it be to obtain genuine specimens of these badges ?

Hi Bantam,

Mate, those badges are becoming hard to find.

The 17th and 24th probably are reasonably easy to find but the 18th is very hard to find - I guess if you came across one at a dealer, you'd be looking at easily over AUD$300 for it.

The supply of Australian 1930 - 1942 period badges is drying up - even on ebay I see less of them now than I did 2-3 years ago. And when they turn up an auctions, you get certain militaria dealers bidding on them thus driving up the prices collectors pay.

Mick

Hi Slick Mick,
Mick thanks very much for your answer.I thought that may have been the case I have visited Arms Fairs and there as certainly been a decrease in Commonwealth Forces Badges.I also have noted a steep increase in auction prices for similar badges.I suppose I was hoping for you to say you had an abundance of them going very cheaply.
Thanks again for your help.
Regards
Bantam
